The TRAP-IT^® Security Planner

The TRAP-IT® Security Planner is a software tool that helps you create and implement a facility-specific Food Security Plan. It provides a comprehensive analysis of the three elements of our risk assessment model. Specifically, it looks at ways that threats can reach your vulnerabilities. Threats  are defined as people with intent to adulterate food products. Targets  are unsecured food products that include raw materials, work in process, finished goods. Access  is the physical connectivity between Threats and Targets.

The TRAP-IT® Security Planner is a “do-it-yourself” tool that is very easy to use. Simply select a screen and enter the prompted information.

The software runs on Windows XP, and can be used on a Tablet PC or a Desktop. On the Tablet PC, you can write directly onto the screen with the stylus. It also has an attachable camera that lets you capture visual records. The Tablet PC is small and lightweight, so it’s easily handheld as you walk through your facility.

The software provides a “self-guided” structure with easy-to-follow prompts throughout the program. And, each step in the process includes on-line Help. We also offer training to help get you started.
